A Character Brand
Mosaic was designed as an identity for the 2022 BGSU Graphic Design Portfolio Show, focused on highlighting the unique personalities and creativity of the Graphic Design Class. The challenge lay in creating a cohesive brand that would resonate visually across various platforms, particularly on Instagram.
To address this, we utilized Instagram's carousel feature to produce "tableaus of personality." Each carousel post comprised two slides: one featuring a headshot and another displaying candid images, enhanced with illustrative drawings and text. This approach aimed to convey what we termed personality-as-texture, striving to encapsulate the essence of each designer in a brief yet impactful manner. Our goal was to engage viewers within the limited time frame of their social media interactions, ultimately showcasing the vibrant diversity of talents present in the class.
The logo for Mosaic was a similarly eclectic typographic mash-up.
2022 BGSU GD Portfolio Show: BLUEPRINT
The juried decision for the theme of the portfolio show was BLUEPRINT. However we were still able to incorporate the ideas from Mosaic of personalizing each slide.
Additionally, we created a grid that had graphic elements flowing from post to post to create one cohesive blueprint across the whole profile.
